About:
Many of the people living in rural Colombia have no education or financial products. About 75% of small farmers do not have access to formal credit, which makes it impossible for them to achieve greater productivity and better quality of life.
This reality is replicated in the communities of Necoclí, where most of the inhabitants not only need to improve their income, but also to strengthen their personal and business financial skills, in order to ensure comprehensive development based on the good use of resources.
Understanding the positive impact that improving finances has on personal life and work performance, we decided to partner with Fundación Bancolombia to implement their rural financial education programme “Cuentas sin cuento”. The programme provides workshops and tools that allow for the improvement of finances and prepares the beneficiaries to make decisions in the use of financial products and services; all with the objective of optimising their resources and generating new and better development opportunities.
We are sure that if we help our country’s farmers to grow, we will make the Colombian countryside a profitable, prosperous and innovative territory.
