About:

The inhabitants of Caribia, a village in Necoclí, adjacent to one of the Luker Chocolate cocoa forests, began training as technicians in sustainable tourism to project their community as a mandatory stop on the Necoclí tourist route, thus taking advantage of its historical and cultural richness as Caribia was the first settlement in the area and has a great ethnic diversity. For this reason, community leaders identified an opportunity to make the village more attractive: to bring the houses to life through color.

That's how we got in touch with the Orbis-Pintuco Foundation (an organization with experience in promoting rural development and training in vulnerable populations through color throughout Colombia) and together we saw the potential for an artistic journey in which volunteers from Luker Chocolate and the inhabitants of Caribia would paint all the houses in the village as a team. During this process, the Orbis-Pintuco Foundation also trained 20 young people from Caribia as painting technicians.

On June 22, 2018, more than 30 volunteers and locals joined forces to make Caribia the most colorful place in Necocli. They painted 100 houses, from the primary school, the community center, the daycare center, to the playgrounds.
