With the support of USAID and in alliance with the Fundación Luker, Enel Emgesa, Saldarriaga Concha Foundation and EAFIT University, we were able to make "The Cocoa Effect" a reality, a cooperation agreement with which we seek to improve the living conditions of cocoa farmers and their communities in three regions of the country where each ally will contribute from its experience to the economic and social transformation of 16 municipalities in Urabá Antioqueño, Bajo Cauca, and Centro Sur del Huila.
With this project we want to achieve increasingly productive and sustainable cocoa plantations over time, through 4 lines of intervention:
- New planting and rehabilitation of cocoa plantations
- Strengthening social and business skills
- Promotion and training in entrepreneurship with a gender perspective
- Strengthening academic and social-emotional skills.
This is one of the most far-reaching projects of The Chocolate Dream, focusing on sustained and integrated solutions in our country's cocoa farming areas.
We believe that when we sow hope, we can build a Colombian countryside with better opportunities.
